A generation that is gradually crushing under the weight of social media
The further we scroll down and tap the more we crumble and tumble
With every post, a fragment disintegrates from our whole selves
From juxtaposing our lives with theirs we’re essentially comparing Volkswagen Beetles to Hummers
To being clowns in a bid to masquerade our downs
We pass off as different people and give pressure to the audience watching from the terraces
Online forums are sparked with acrimony
A destructive rampage is set out against the weaker prey,
With just one fluff our savage sisters and brothers are guaranteed a field day
We amuse ourselves by shaming the next person and giving them our two cents
with offensive words,
We dish out unsolicited advice
we battle to be crowned Kings and Queens of insolence
Shots are fired left, right and centre with the comment section laden with a tone that turns to vitriol against its targets,
No regard for others whatsoever
The social landscape has become a breeding ground for malevolence
We offer help not wanting to help and we start conversations not to find out how the other person is but to just get rid of boredom
The virtual world may look and feel real but truth be told human connections have deteriorated and we are losing many of our brothers and sisters to this scourge
Lets be responsible enough on social platforms
Yes, We are our brothers’ keeper!

It’s amazing to this old man that folks won’t write a letter anymore. Almost everything is done in secrecy. No phone call no visit no one on one conversations. What has happened to virtue’s and morals? People need to communicate with respect and grace. The old ways are really not that old. We are way off track. Yes I say this publicly also. I am pastor of a small congregation. I also regularly engage folks publicly. I love good conversation. In closing I want to say you spelled this out very well. Thank you for the reminder.

Yes Maureen. Very true what you’ve encapsulated here as the underlying deception of Social Media! It’s not something mankind has designed to help you or make you a better person, but is rather part of a bigger plan to ruin you and countless others with projecting one’s self in a world of artificiality while thinking it is reality, or better said, not what God intended His children created in His likeness to be frittering and spending a large portion of their daily lives consuming and partaking of in a massive fraudulent realm of conceit, deceit and folly!
“And all things in moderation,” is something I learned as a boy from my parents which they obviously learned through experience and from their parents and the teachings of Fulton Sheen I happen to know!
“The most intense and lasting joys come only to those who are willing to practice a certain self-restraint, to undergo the boredom of a preliminary discipline.” The Venerable Fulton Sheen.
Fulton Sheen was spot on saying this many decades ago, and how much worse it has become than even he stated; because out of lazy boredom, ultimate couch potatoes, that many people have fallen into which they were primed to be partakers of, this vast artificiality running rampant, drawing them further away from the realm of the living and real world where physical complete participation is required; but rather into a world where the whimsical and foolish prevail as badges of honor or more clicks and followers paying homage to these Kings and Queens of Cyberspace! “A lost cause” by a “lost generation” scampering about trying to impress and lose themselves more each passing moment they scroll or click, becoming less human and more deluded, as they become the property of the infernal one who has waited eons for this opportunity to steal all the souls that can be gathered and swept away on this magic carpet ride of Vanity! This time being the Devil’s last hoorah!
“Vanity of vanities, says the Preacher, Vanity of vanities! All is vanity” (Ecclesiastes 1:2
Romans 8:20 says that all creation was subjected to vanity because of God’s curse. When Adam sinned, God cursed all that He had made (Genesis 3:17–19). In other words, perfection was lost. All of creation is now falling short of its original purpose; rather than working in harmony with God and creation, inhabitants of the earth have turned on each other and against God. We still reel from the effects of that curse. Everything meant to be right side up is upside down. The chaos and insanity of the world as we know it are due to the fact that God has subjected creation to vanity until the time when it will be set free (Romans 8:21)
So these are the kinds of things that truly matter to me and should to any sensible sane person in my humble opinion! Because the seeking of praise or confirmation by others is a vain and fruitless cause and an actual illness or diversion from Truth, and is rather a delving into foolish arrogance, conceit, self-worship or confusion which are not of God at all but the opposite! And those are the attitudes or behaviors too often times displayed and propagated on the internet, what become the actual motivations behind many of the bait clickers as I call them, and following chasers or praise seekers, by the multitudes of lost souls spending far too much time living in an artificial, fake and deceptive false world that has many allures or even snares to trap those foolish enough to partake of such a Pandora’s Box!
Time as we live it out in our short lives is far too precious to be frittering it away with triviality and non-reality such as we find on the internet; but those precious moments should be spent with the actual living in person and accomplishing tasks that need to be accomplished in order to do good in the world that which must be God’s will not our own!
I close by quoting this excerpt which to me ties all of this together perfectly and should make sense and help anyone who is genuinely humble to God in and through Jesus; only seeking to do the will of our Father in heaven and live by His Truth.
“As times turn fast so as the evolvement of the enemy. Conquering not just lands but minds and hearts of humans. Using the technology, money, glamour and power to control anyone for their advancements. The Jewish (Encyclopedia 1925 Edition. Vol 5 page 41 states EDOM is in modern “JEWRY” ), who control world money. These Edomite Nations will also be doing space travel and conquering what’s above.” But this is what the Sovereign Lord says about Edom on their “SPACE DECEPTION : “Rise, let us go against her for battle”— Though you soar like the eagle and make your nest among the stars, from there I will bring you down,” declares the Lord.” Obadiah 1:1, 4 NIV
